IC: Riding hard [22 Nov 2004|06:45pm]
[ mood | determined ]

The red mare's hooves toss up bits of dirt and grass as her rider urges her on to greater and greater speed. Faster, my brave lady, faster! We have to make it to Dun Sobhrach before nightfall!

He can feel the sun sinking below the horizon, and gives the mare another nudge with his heels. Whinnying in protest, she nevertheless gives her all. Her rider allows himself a small smile of relief...

That smile quickly disappears as he notices the air growing chillier. A cold, whistling wind springs up, carrying the scent of grave mold. Oh, no...

Suddenly, an ear-splitting shriek rends the air, causing the horse to panic and rear. Try as he might, her rider cannot retain his seat in the saddle.

He lands hard on the ground, the impact knocking the breath from his lungs, and it's a moment or two before he can see clearly....

[ mood | hopeful ]

The ship from Dun Caorthann pulls into port, its white sails billowing in the lotus-scented breeze.

A delegation from the Heavenly Courts stands ready to greet the visitors from far away, many of them wondering what these strange visitors will look like.

The gangplank is finally lowered, and a group of oddly-dressed individuals descend to the docks.
